A Walk Through the
Valley of the Shadow

Today we commemorate the First Battle of Lincoln, fought in 1141. King Stephen of England got trounced trying to capture Lincoln Castle.

And today's the day we get our weather report from a big fat pesky rodent instead of the Wondrous Weather Website. Oh well, I guess that's no more irrational than reciting mystic incantations at your own belly button to summon the kind intercession of an impossibly convoluted three-headed mini-pantheon that a poor unsuspecting virgin found herself mixed up with a coupla thousand years ago.

This afternoon is another presentation by the Washington Area Secular Humanists. It's supposed to be something about old folks dying, or something like that. Death With Dignity, they call it.

Anyhow, it's gonna be at the Kensington Library instead of the Chevy Chase Library. Not very far apart. Just remember to take the Connecticut Avenue exit the other direction.
