Today we celebrate the birthday of Adlai Stevenson, born in 1900. He was the losing Democrat candidate for president in 1952 and 1956.

Yesterday another person tried to jump off the Concrete Rainbow, but somebody stopped her in time and the men in white coats took her to the rubber room. I suppose there'll be another outcry to get fences put onto the bridge so suicidal folks will hafta find some other way to do themselves in.

And today is Shrove Tuesday, the day of Grandiose Pancake Dinners. I think Shrove is the ancient Brythonic word for Pancake, but a conspiracy has arisen to conceal that scandalous fact from the public.
