Oh by the way, folks, oldest entries are deleted to keep the total entry count at 666 because that number is sure to rile up somebody who sorely needs it. My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Eva Gabor, born in 1919. Yesterday's church service was the usual yawner. Then there was some honorary hoo-rah for some high-ranking dignitary up in Baltimore. We rode up with another couple, and they knew a new and fun way up to Baltimore. Probably not any quicker nor less gas used, but it was fun to be different. Then the hoo-rah was another yawner. Milling around smiling and shaking hands with a buncha folks I've never met before and will never meet again, standing there listening to the emcee make the obligatory presentations, then more milling around doing vaporous conversations about how nice the presentations were. At least they had a great refreshment spread. Then we heard that Hillary Clinton was gonna give a speech somewhere in the vicinity of Baltimore that evening but we didn't go. I hate political speeches, even when the candidate is 97 orders of magnitude more intelligent than anybody my own (mis)chosen party is fielding this year. The ride home was great. Our ride hosts have got a nice mini-van with a great back seat to catch a snooze in, even bouncing along the back roads. Today is way cold. Maybe I'll bundle up and go for a bike ride with my insulated water bottle full of hot cocoa or something like that. Happy Monday! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
