Oh by the way, folks, oldest entries are deleted to keep the total entry count at 666 because that number is sure to rile up somebody who sorely needs it. My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Kenjiro Shoda, born in 1902. He was a Japanese mathematician. Yesterday's Gospel lesson was something about Jesus having some rambling space-trippy conversation with the Woman At The Well. I kept thinking, what if I were hearing this story for the first time? Would I be wondering how soon the woman was gonna call for the Men In White Coats to come and escort Jesus to the Rubber Room? Oh well, none of the Gospel stories make much sense anyhow. I don't see how this one should be any different. In the Encyclopedia Britannica (1968 edition, yeah, I know, I'm kinda antiquarian), in the article on Jesus Christ, there's a remark that no serious scholar seriously believes the contention that Jesus was a purely fictional character but unfortunately there's no other plausible explanation for the particular pattern of early Christian writings that we have available today. So if no serious scholar bothers with evidence, why should I bother with serious scholars? But anyhow, the Wondrous Weather Website is predicting a great day. Happy Monday! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
