Oh by the way, folks, oldest entries are deleted to keep the total entry count at 666 because that number is sure to rile up somebody who sorely needs it. My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Gioachino Rossini, born in 1792. He's the composer who wrote the William Tell Overture, used for the theme song for the Lone Ranger. Also for the series of radio ads of a finance company that called itself the Loan Arranger. You'd think that, statistically, February 29 would be kinda short on birthdays, but there seems to be plenty of them. Now, a feast day for a saint on February 29? Highly implausible! What decent self-respecting saint would want a feast day that came only once every four years? But anyhow, Global Warming doesn't get back from vacation until at least day after tomorrow, so says the Wondrous Weather Website. Just bundle up nice and warm! Happy Friday! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
