Oh by the way, folks, oldest entries are deleted to keep the total entry count at 666 because that number is sure to rile up somebody who sorely needs it. My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Guglielmo Marconi, born in 1874. He was the world's first radio ham, and one of the co-winners of the 1909 Nobel Prize in Physics. Radio hams were among the first to notice that the laws of physics that describe how radio works are remarkably mathematically analogous to the laws of physics that describe everything else. This observation was reiterated by another Nobel Prize winner, Richard Feynman. All the laws of physics appear to be instantiations of some Grandiose Principle of Dimensionality, as though this dimensionality were based on Absolute Truth, which exists in the Grandiose Primordial Realm of Nothingness consisting of nothing but stuff whose non-existence does not exist. So maybe the universe exists just because its non-existence never got created. What does that leave for God to do? Sit in the bleachers and cheer? Oh well, so much for my wigged-out theology. Yes, folks, being the Grandiose Executor of my father's estate is, er, ah, full of interesting moments. Such as about a week ago we received an unsolicited credit card associated with the estate account, to pay estate bills. We don't need any such credit card so we filed it away. And then yesterday we received a letter from the same place saying thank you for applying for the credit card but your application has been denied because your account doesn't qualify because blah blah blah etc. I guess that must make sense to somebody but the logic escapes me just now. But anyhow, the Wondrous Weather Website is predicting another great day to get another plot or two into Gordon the Garden. Happy Friday! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
