Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Gottfried Wilhelm von Leibniz, born in 1646. He was a mathematician, who, with Sir Isaac Newton, invented calculus. It's not entirely clear how much they collaborated, how much they invented independently, and how much they plagiarized from each other. Yesterday was a nice quiet day of woodworking and gardening. Gordon the Garden gave us string beans and lettuce and chard, which we had for dinner. And the world's religious nut-cases are continuing to misbehave as usual. One Islamic Moo-Lah over in the Netherlands came up with the outrageously heretical notion that gay people are okay, and the rest of the world's Islamic Moo-Lahs are issuing fatwas against him. It's so much fun to watch the fireworks when somebody within a religion says something that makes sense for a change. Today is gonna be another good one. Woodworking is about 97% sandpapering, so that's what I'll be doing all day. Happy Sandpapering! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
