Today we celebrate the birthday of Nathaniel Hawthorne, born in 1804. His Fourth Of July birthday must make him our nation's most patriotic author.

Nothing happened yesterday. Gosh, gee, this is getting to be a habit!

I see that our Emergency No Parking signs are already in place for tonight's fireworks display, and they've got drunk driving checkpoints in place up and down Route 2-by-4. So I guess we're ready for the evening's festivities.

Until then, I suppose I'll while away the day doing the usual stuff, garden picking, lawn mowing, woodworking.
