Today we wish a fond Happy Birthday to Peggy Fleming, born in 1948. Championship figure skater, and now a winery manager. Sounds like a success story to me!

Well, folks, our assistant preacher got his granddaughter baptized. The head boss preacher did the sermon, something about how baptism is welcoming somebody into our fellowship, which we do to kids when they're too young to have any idea whether they even like us well enough to wanna be one of us.

Of course, he had to get his digs in about how atheists aren't members of our fellowship and therefore don't have any sense of community, a sentiment I've never heard expressed in the atheist community. But hey, he's gotta preach the Christian Party Line, even when it doesn't make any sense. That's what we pay him for.

And then in the afternoon Robert the Rain God came on duty, and stayed for most of the night.

So today I have nothing very important to do. Maybe go a-questing for a new pair of jogging shoes. Which way shall I go? Waldorf or Annapolis?
