Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Augustin Louis Cauchy, born in 1789. He was a mathematician. I think there are several mathematical funny-functions named partly after him, in partnership with other mathematicians. And now, folks, I wish somebody would explain Obama's health care reform proposals without using loaded terms like Death Squad and Euthanize Grandma and stuff like that. Oh well, I'm getting the idea that all of our politicians are folks who aren't smart enough to get real jobs. But anyhow, It's gonna be another oppressively hot day. I crawled out of bed, read my thermometer outside the bedroom window, and it was over 80 degrees Foreign Heat. Then I stepped outside into the Great Sauna Bath to bring in the Washington Post. It looks like today is gonna be a great day to enjoy the air conditioning. And then this evening we're gonna go out and do a nice romantic dinner, hopefully someplace where the bartender is smart enough to know that MrsPest's favorite drink, the Brandy Manhattan, is NOT made from tequila and prune juice with a dash of Mazola oil, or whatever that one place tried to serve her once a few weeks ago. Fortunately, my favorite drink, Scotch On The Rocks, is one they seldom screw up. Happy Friday! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
