Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we wish a fond Happy Birthday to Shania Twain, born in 1965. Yesterday somehow I felt sorta like driftwood all day. After checking the lawn at St Peters Chapel (it didn't need mowing) and mowing the columbarium, I stopped at the post office and got the mail. Nothing much happened the rest of the day. Then when MrsPest got home, she mentioned that she hadn't gotten the mail. So on the way to pick up a friend to go to community chorus rehearsal, I checked the mail and there wasn't any. Then I suddenly remembered, well, duh, I already got the mail. Now, community chorus rehearsal is held in the nursing home lounge at Asbury, and lotsa old folks in wheel chairs come to listen and sing along. We have different hats for different songs. Cowboy hats for Oklahoma, sombreros for Hernando's Hideaway, glittery top hats for Puttin On The Ritz, etc. So anyhow, as we were getting ready to start singing, one of the ancient geezers explained to another one, "These are the folks that wear hats." But anyhow, we need tenors in our chorus. Actually we need more of everybody but we don't have any tenors at all. My fellow Basso Profundo can sometimes squeak out the tenor part when it doesn't go too high, but I can barely get up to some of those ridiculous notes they write into the bass part. So it's gonna rain today as we set up the church parish hall for our Grandiose 325-Year Anniversary Celebration. Good. We need a bit of rain on our parade. Happy Friday! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
