Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate a feast day in commemoration of The Miracle at Colassai of Archangel Michael. Yesterday was remarkably peaceful for a Labor Day Weekend Saturday. I suppose there may have been a coupla brawls at the Tiki Bar but I don't know any details. Actually I wanna see the Tiki Bar stay in business even though I don't patronize the joint. It's so much fun to make fun of folks paying extra to drink in the gutter. Mainly, the Tiki Bar has got two strokes against its continuing existence. First, it's in a neighborhood where most of the vacant lots are owned by a billionaire land speculator who wants to keep a tight rein on business activity to maximize his control over land prices. He's a sneaky influence peddlar who can muster lotsa neighborhood sentiment for his greedy cause. Second, the owner of the Tiki Bar has a slightly seedy past that includes several arrests (but only one conviction as far as I know) for various minor misdemeanors. More fuel for the neighborhood influence peddlar. So any slightest little disturbance around the place puts the establishment in jeopardy. But anyhow, today is Sunday, the day that we pray for stuff to happen instead of getting out there and making stuff happen. Some folks will be praying for the Tiki Bar to stay in business, and some will pray for it to go out of business. And God will do nothing, thus looking an awful lot like God doesn't even exist. Happy Praying! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
