Today we wish a fond Happy Birthday to Adam West, born in 1928. He played the starring role in Batman, a TV show that, for pure hokum, ranks right up alongside of Zorro, Captain Video, and Roy Rogers.

Yesterday I was mowing my lawn and a Maryland State Policeman stopped by and reminded me that I had once called him Twinkletoes. I had to scratch my head a bit, then I recognized him. He had once been a part-time temporary employee on a project I had worked on and was applying to get into the police academy.

Well anyhow, I came into work one morning and the office blackboard was emblazoned with a huge banner that read Real Men Drive V-8's. So I crossed out Real Men and wrote in Twinkletoes.

Then I learned that this here kid had just bought a brand new Found On Road Dead Muskrat (that's what our old sports car club used to call the Ford Mustang) with the biggest V-8 engine they made, and he felt he had to brag about it.

So now he's a Real Policeman who gets to drive a Full Of Rusty Dents Clown Victrola with an even bigger V-8 engine.

And as for me, my itty-bitty little four-cylinder job does just fine.
