Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Johan Herman Wessel, born in 1742. He was a Norwegian poet. And now, folks, blasphemy is fun but it can backfire. Here's how: Victor J Stenger came up with the blasphemous slogan, "Science flies you to the moon, religion flies you into buildings." Clever, but as a world-famous scientist like Victor J Stenger oughta know, it utterly fails rational examination. Science provides us with knowledge. Technology uses that knowledge to invent high-tech gadgets. Ideologically motivated people use those gadgets to fly to their choice of the moon or into buildings. Oh well, blasphemy is still fun even when it backfires. Today is the sixth of the month, the day I've got a stash of bills lined up to pay. Fortunately I've got the means to pay them, unlike increasing numbers of our fellow countrymen in today's economy. Happy Paying Bills! OrneryPest |
