Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Edythe Chapman, born in 1863. She was some sorta show-biz person. Annapolis Mall is almost as depressing as Waldorf Mall. Half the stores don't open on time, the shelves are half empty, there's dust all over everything, the sales people are a buncha semiconscious zombies, what a waste! But anyhow I got started reading The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown which I was gonna buy for MrsPest for her birthday but she already bought it for herself and has already finished reading it. So much for birthday shopping. I've gotten as far as where one of the characters describes the Christian religion as a primitive stone-age cult whose participants gather together on the Pagan Day of the Invincible Sun and bow down before a mystic icon of an ancient implement of torture and perform a symbolic cannibalistic human sacrifice ritual. I thought, hey, that's about as accurate as I've ever heard! Last night's church dinner went great. The presentation afterwards was by a hospital person who talked about your right to die a peaceful death according to your own standards when the time comes. And so today is gonna be nice and cool. It looks like it'll be time to pull off the extra sweater along about mid-morning or thereabouts. Happy Thursday! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
