Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Aimee Semple McPherson, born in 1890. She was world-famous in the merry annals of Jesus-freakery. I finished The Lost Symbol. Dan Brown's description of the Freemasons is pretty much the same as what you read about them in all the popular sources. More than likely, it's probably got lotsa inaccuracies, but, not being a Freemason I wouldn't know, and if I were a Freemason I wouldn't tell. I'm not sure whether he's actually promoting this giddy new-age feel-good all-religions-are-groovy theology in which all holy scriptures are presumed to contain the same mystic truths stated in different ways, or whether he's just using the concept to build his story. Anyhow, it's a nice fun little book. This morning I got up feeling rotten but I don't have a fever. But the Wondrous Weather Website is predicting a great one, so maybe I'll shape up as the day progresses. Happy Shaping Up! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
