Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Robert Simson, born in 1687. He was a theology student who decided that mathematics makes better sense than theology, so he changed his major. Good for him! One thing I never did in college was change my major. It was double major physics and math all the way. Maybe that's why I'm such a narrow-minded jerk who can never understand anybody else's point of view. I went to a religion-related college, which meant I had to take a required religion course, which mostly made little sense to me. Well, the professor at least made a few astute comments from time to time, such as, "The reason most people go to church is to indulge their egotistical delusion that they can boss God around by mumbling mystic incantations at their own belly buttons," and, "The reason the universe does not match what God ought to have created is that God was just cooked up out of thin air." Anyhow I managed to bullshit my way through the course well enough so that my A+ on my term paper on the Book of Job pulled my final grade up to a C. Last April one of my old high school buds invited me to join Tagged which seems to be sorta like Facebook Junior with a Side Order of Spam. I keep getting requests for friends, matches, and so forth, so I just sorta click through the default option, and friends and potential match-mates magically appear. I'm sure I'll never get to know any of them. But anyhow yesterday I finally decided to fill in enough of my profile so that would-be girl friends would realize I'm out of bounds and they can't have me. So the link to my profile is now on this page, over on the bottom of that white list of links at your left. And today looks like a great day, and the church dinner scheduled for this evening will be held indoors so as not to conflict with the rain that the Wondrous Weather Website is promising us for this evening. Happy Wednesday! OrneryPest |

Oh by the way, if you're one of those insufferable snooty folks who think
you've just gotta have a (gasp) banner (shudder) to link to me,
I suppose I'll let you download this one for the purpose, if you really insist.
