Today we celebrate the birthday of William Wilberforce, born in 1759. He was an English politician who campaigned for the abolition of slavery, an achievement that was achieved in England almost a third of a century before it was achieved here in our supposedly enlightened country.

Yesterday's quest included a trip to the bank to deal with an IRA account that you've gotta do something with when you turn 70&1/2, which is soon gonna happen to me. The bank officer coached us through the byzantine maze of inscrutable paperwork. One less thing in my Grandiose Action Item Folder.

Today's quest is gonna be to sit back and do as little as I think I can get away with. Mostly outdoors, presumably, because it looks like the weather's gonna be great.

Happy Saturday!
