Today we celebrate the birthday of Giuseppe Verdi, born in 1813. He was an opera composer.

Last night's church pot luck dinner was eleven people including both preachers. The presento afterwards was about the non-canonical Gospel of Mary Magdalene, which currently exists only in fragmentary form, but what little we have of it strongly supports the contention, favored by some offbeat sects but soundly rejected by most major denominations, that Mary Magdalene had a special relationship with Jesus and may have even been married to him.

Anyhow, one of the people turned to one preacher and remarked, "The more I learn about Christianity the more I'm thinking every bit of it is bullshit. So, Holy Father, with all your superior knowledge how do you keep on believing?"

The preacher answered something like, "Er, um, ah, well, erm, duh ..."

Love to see one of us lowly peons outfox the Font Of All Wisdom!

Anyhow, today it looks like it's gonna rain an awful lot more.
