Today we celebrate the birthday of Roman Emperor Nerva, born in 30 AD. He was already an ancient geezer before becoming emperor, so his term of office didn't last very long.

Yesterday it rained a bunch. Between raindrops I went out to see if there's anything more that oughta be chopped off of the half-down crape myrtle tree that's threatening my neighbor's garage, and decided maybe I oughta leave it alone for a while.

And so today I suppose we might go mattress-shopping. We think we might get help moving the new bed upstairs on Sunday afternoon, so if we can wangle the mattress store into delivering on Monday that'll be perfect.
