Today we celebrate the birthday of Pietro Antonio Coppola, born in 1793. He was a music composer.

Somehow it seems that a majority of music composers have been Italian. That's probably not actually true, but it just seems that way.

Actually, though, it seems that if you read about the history of music and then about the history of Italy, you feel like you're almost re-reading the same thing over again.

Well anyhow, yesterday's snowstorm sorta fizzled. Mostly just rain.

Then it turned way cold overnight, so now everything is covered with a light glaze of frost. It didn't seem very slippery when I strolled out to get our Washington Post, but then I was wearing my Nike Air Max sneakers which have sorta sticky rubber soles.

And so today is Wednesday, the longest day of the week, the only day that's nine letters long.

Happy Wednesday!
