Today we wish a fond Happy Birthday to Ray Stevens, born in 1939. He's a singer who's best known for his song about Ahab the Arab, Sheik of the Burning Sands, who rides on a camel named Clyde and abducts Fatima, the Sultan's favorite harem girl.

I once had a co-worker of Arabic ancestry, and he loved the song so much that he gave himself the nickname Ahab the Arab. And I've known other people of Arabic ancestry who were mortally offended by the song.

So hey, folks, offended by something harmless? Grow a thick skin, already!

Well anyhow, yesterday it stayed sorta cold pretty much all day.

Today the Wondrous Weather Website is promising us another cold one.
