Today we celebrate the birthday of Charles Kensington Salaman, born in 1814. He was a pianist and music composer.

Yesterday church was the usual crashing bore except that we had a substitute organist who played everything at a nice upbeat tempo, which I'm rather fond of.

A few of our congregation members prefer stuff to be done slow and gloomy, but verily I say unto thee, they have their problems.

The rest of the day was nice and warm and cheerful.

This morning it's raining lightly and beginning to turn just a bit frosty in spots. The local traffic reports are reporting lotsa accidents on slick roads, mostly in the north end of the county.

Of course, one of the accident-causing factors is the canonically accepted driving style on Route 2-by-4, on which the only way you're allowed to go 80 in a 55 zone is to stay in the slow lane and let everybody pass.

But that's okay. I'm staying home today. If there's enough accidents it might solve the overpopulation problem.

Happy Staying Home!
