Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Georgius Agricola, born in 1494. He was a Renaissance Man, a student of many areas of the arts and sciences, and especially known for his work as a mineralogist. Yesterday church was the usual crashing bore. The gospel reading was John 4:5-42, the story of Jesus conversing with the Samaritan woman at the well, a story so obviously cobbled together from earlier Indo-European super-hero mythology relocated into a fictional country loosely based on a second-hand knowledge of Palestine that its very presence in the Bible casts serious doubt on whether Jesus was even a historical person. Anyhow, Father B preached the sermon in 10 minutes and 48 seconds. The rest of the day was nice and cool. Nothing else happened. Today it looks like another nice cool day with nothing happening. Happy Monday! OrneryPest |
