Today we celebrate the birthday of Ella Fitzgerald, born in 1917. She was a singer who's popular in crossweird puzzles.

Yesterday our fair isle battened down the hatches for the annual opening of our world-famous Tiki Bar.

The highway deptment put up its grandiose array of no-parking signs and orange cones.

X. Bedford Glascock III, who occasionally donates the use of a portion of his property for overflow parking for certain events of his choosing but not for the Tiki Bar opening, put up his usual barriers so folks wouldn't think it's public parking.

Folks with nice thick front-yard shrubbery may or may not have booby-trapped our shrubbery for the benefit of Tiki Bar customers who are too drunk to discern the fine distinction between shrubbery and a rest room.

So we're all set to enjoy the entertainment put on by the sorta folks who like to pay extra to drink in the gutter

Happy Paying Extra To Drink In The Gutter!
