Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate a feast day in honor of Saint Ignatius of Laconi. I can't find what he's the patron saint of. Most of what we know about him is probably mostly hogwash anyhow. Yesterday's Adopt-A-Highway quest was a success. About a dozen folks showed up, and in about 2&1/2 hours we filled 5 trash bags. One major source of trash is leftover never-been-used underground utility marker flaggies. Somebody intending to dig up something at some unspecified future date calls Miss Utility and all the utility companies come out and mark their stuff with all these little flaggies and the years pass by and the dig never gets done and the flaggies deteriorate and fall over and become trash. Hey, folks, I know you're supposed to call Miss Utility if you're gonna dig but I don't see the point in calling Miss Utility if you're not gonna dig. Well anyhow, MrsPest reports that the Grandiose May Fest Antiques And Junque Sale went great. And today is Mothers Day for all of us who have mothers, still living or deceased. Today our interim adjunct preacher Father S is scheduled to lead us in our duly appointed three-headed sky-zombie hallucination orgy. He has promised short sermons. Theoretically, I'd opt for longer sermons and cut out all that other superfluous hogwash, but I'm afraid that's not the majority view of the congregation. Happy Mothers Day! OrneryPest |
