Today we celebrate the birthday of Harriet Beecher Stowe, born in 1811. She was the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin.

Yesterday it rained an awful lot. Needless to say, the front porch is still unpainted.

Today it looks like it's gonna quit raining but the front porch wood is still soaking wet from all the rain so I'm gonna hafta wait for it to dry out which may or may not happen.

And yesterday the underground tron installers didn't make any further progress. No surprise, I suppose, because the ground is so soggy that the possibility of a cave-in looms eerily.

We hear on the news that a cave-in happened to somebody already, and we don't need any more.

Happy Drying Out!
