Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Francis Scott Key, born in 1779. He wrote The Star Spangled Banner which, when set to the tune of a Merrye Olde Englishe Drinkinge Songe, became our National Anthem. Various versions of the story abound as to whether Francis Scott Key intended his poem to be set to this particular tune or whether he became emotionally disturbed about it and hated that it was set to any music at all. I guess that leaves us free to believe anything we like on that subject. Yesterday the tron undergrounders didn't do any further digging. A buncha their Planners And Estimators bearing surveying gadgets did a buncha Planning And Estimating along the back street, and they mentioned to me that a portion of the project, some sorta switching control apparatus, was gonna be installed back there. And then the dishwasher repair tech came and repaired the dishwasher. He then mentioned that we'd get a bit better long-term reliability from this particular model of dishwasher if we'd run our water heater temperature a bit higher. So today's Quest Of The Day is gonna include crawling down belowdecks and running up the water heater thermostat a few degrees. And then it looks like probably nothing much else is likely to happen today. Happy Friday! OrneryPest |
