Today we celebrate the birthday of Eydie Gorme, born in 1928. She was a singer.

Yesterday's big excitement happened just a bit before about 1 PM or thereabouts. The tron undergrounders snagged a gas line that had not been recorded on the plat they got from Miss Utility.

The break was about half a block south of my place, and there was a light breeze from the west, so when I strolled down the back street a ways there was a pretty heavy smell of leaking gas, but no smell at my house.

So they had the street blocked off for about three hours.

So BOO on Miss Utility! First they record the water line about 4 feet from where it's actually at, and then they fail to record a gas line altogether. So what's the point in calling them?

Well anyhow, I think that's enough excitement for the week. I hope nothing happens today.
