Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Charles Martel, born in 688 or 686 AD, depending on which blurred misprint of some ancient inscription you wanna believe. Also, I haven't found reliable verification of the exact day of August 23, but hey, any excuse to celebrate! Anyhow, he was a Frankish statesman and military hero, and grandfather of Charlemagne. Yesterday's big excitement was another gas line snag by our illustrious tron undergrounders. Near the same place, so last week's excuse about how it wasn't on the chart they got from Miss Utility isn't gonna work this time. They knew it was there, from last week's episode. The tron company has issued a statement that they're gonna put the undergrounding contract on hold while they investigate who screwed up. And then we did our quest to Baltimore, City of Cone Zones, and tried to let Princess Henrietta the Navigator (our GPS navigadget) navigate us through the experimental laboratory-rat-maze of orange cones, but she got hopelessly confused, but we found our way through somehow or t'nother. Today it's gonna rain. Or so says the Wondrous Weather Website. They've been mostly wrong most of the time lately. I'm prepared for most anything. Happy Whatever! OrneryPest |
