Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate a feast day in honor of Saint Faustina Kowalska. She's apparently not the patron saint of anything yet, which is not too surprising since she's a rather new saint and is probably still in the process of sending out job applications for stuff to be patron saint of. Yesterday's Washington Area Secular Humanist presento was interesting. It was about charity stuff being done round and about the world. There's lots more charity stuff than most people realize that gets done by non-religious and sometimes overtly atheist organizations. Somehow our American news media never publicize this, leading people on Facebook to say erroneous stuff like, "When's the last time you ever heard of an atheist orphanage?" And there's just as much terrorism committed by Christian organizations as there is by Muslim organizations, but we never see a word of it in the American press. Well anyhow, for this morning I guess I'm sufficiently dosed with rationality to survive one measly hour of pretending to hallucinate a make-believe three-headed sky-zombie, and then this afternoon there'll be a Southern Maryland Secular Humanist meeting. Happy Hallucinations! OrneryPest |
