Today we celebrate the birthday of William Penn, born in 1644. He was the founder of the colony of Pennsylvania. He's also famous for getting his picture onto Quaker Oats oatmeal boxes.

Yesterday's chiroquacker knee-jerk session, again as usual, accomplished a grand total of precisely nothing.

But the day wasn't quite a total waste. There's this old lamp that came with our house which we bought in 1977, and it seems to have developed a tendency to make spitzing and sputtering noises and make the bulb flicker, especially when we use one of those curly-cue compact fluorescent bulbs in it.

So I took it apart and found no problems with the cord, but the socket was sorta corroded. So, a trip to False Value Hardware for a new socket, and it's fixed now.

Today it looks like nothing's gonna happen until afternoon when the heat pump tech comes to do our annual heat pump service.

Unless of course the tron undergrounders snag another gas line.

Happy Tuesday!
