Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Pierre Trudeau, born in 1919. He served a hitch as prime minister of Canada. Yesterday's memorable event was the trip to the post office. There was a yellow coupon in the box so I went over to the desk to pick up my package, and the person ahead of me was taking an awful long time. She's one of these folks who, for convenience reasons, has her post office box in Solomons even though her street address is in Lusby. (The exact line of demarcation between Solomons and Lusby has become unclear because of urban sprawl of both communities.) So if she gets something shipped to her by Parcel Post she uses her Solomons address, but if it's coming by UPS or Fed-Ex she uses her Lusby address. But how should she specify her address if she doesn't know how the sender is gonna send it? Unfortunately the post office lady wasn't entirely sure of the best solution. Anyhow, nothing much else happened. The chiroquacker knee-jerk session, as usual, accomplished nothing. The tron undergrounders didn't snag any more gas lines. There was another drunk driving accident on the Concrete Rainbow. In other words, business as usual. And so today looks like another nice day of business as usual. Happy Business As Usual!
