Today we celebrate the birthday of Captain James Cook, born in 1728. He was an explorer who was said to have "discovered" the Hawaiian Islands, even though they were in fact quite nicely inhabited by lotsa people before he got there.

Yesterday in church we did our usual job of seeing to it that God was thoroughly bored to tears.

And on the Facebook scene, we've got a nice flame war a-brewin' as to whether Christianity or Islam is more idiotic. I'm not taking sides except to admit I nominally participate in a Christian denomination even though I've read both the Bible and the Koran cover-to-cover and find them both totally idiotic.

Today it looks like nothing's gonna happen. Well, maybe the tron undergrounders might start in on our block this week. That'll be fun to watch.
