Today we celebrate a feast day in honor of Saint Clement of Rome. He's the patron saint of sea anchors. He was alleged to be Bishop of Rome, but his lifetime was much earlier than when the church in Rome was well enough organized to even have a bishop. His main claim to fame was to attempt to continue Saint Paul's efforts to get the Corinthians to quit squabbling amongst themselves. He appears to have not succeeded any better than Saint Paul did.

And in today's news, we note the demise of Main Man Mayor Marion, whose 4 terms as mayor of Washington DC were merrily festooned by his habits of snorting crack, cheating on his succession of wives, scalping on city contracts, and all sorts of other fraudulent stuff that made him fit right in with the overall character of Our Nation's Capitol.

Nothing happened yesterday. The tron undergrounders were merrily pulling wires into all the underground conduits already put in, with apparently no new conduits being put in. They haven't started the block in front of my place yet.

And then in the evening the brand-new dishwasher broke already, on only its second load of dishes. It's still under warranty so we'll call the place to see if they can figure out how to fix it.

And today looks like nothing's gonna happen after we put God to sleep with our obligatory hour of hopelessly boring mystic incantations.

Happy Boring God To Sleep!
