Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Franz Xaver Gruber, born in 1787. He composed the tune for Silent Night, the words having been written by his compatriot Joseph Mohr. Yesterday the tron undergrounders finally got to my block. No slit-trenching yet. They did an across-the-street horizontal borehole, and dug around the place where the connection box is gonna be between us and the next-door neighbors, uncovering all underground stuff that's already there. It appears that the ComCrashed cables that serve us and our next-door neighbors are only a coupla inches below the surface, and they're not in conduits, and not even armored. One little scoop with even just a small garden trowel would snag the cable before you even knew you'd hit anything. Not only that, but the one to my house runs under my driveway, and it's a wonder it's still intact, from all the vibrational pounding and throbbing it must be getting from vehicles going in and out of the driveway. Oh well, when it breaks ComCrashed will just hafta fix it. And so today I'm sure there'll be lotsa activity. Happy Activity! OrneryPest |
