We use regular candles and put them in a sand table for safety, and fill the chalice with sand and the chalice candle goes in the middle. We like the real thing, though every now and then some rebel buys a scented candle and we have fits of sneezing during the service. Very hard to be holier-than-thou when you're sneezing.
