Today we wish a fond Happy Birthday to Goldie Hawn, born in 1945. I think she must be just about everybody's favorite Giggle Girl.

And now, folks, today's Grandiose Foot In Mouth Award goes to the state of Texas, whose visionary legislators have accidentally prohibited marriage. Their apparent intention was to prohibit gay marriage but they sorta mis-worded one of the key clauses in the amendment.

And today is Saturday, the day off for office-workers but double-shift duty day for cash-register workers.

Speaking of cash-register workers, I'm wondering whether Self-Check-Out is really worthwhile. Somehow or t'nother they've gotta implement shoplifting protection, as well as assistance for fumble-fingered clods like me who manage to get the system wrapped around its own axle.

So it appears that stores really can't downsize their cash-register operator staff by enough to pay for the cost of the system.

But anyhow, the Wondrous Weather Website is promising us an approximate duplicate of yesterday, which was great.
