Back in the middle ages it was popular to own a cane with a sword concealed in it. These things are still available from several places (Smoky Mountain Knife Company, for one that I happen to know of). Anyhow, it seems that the owners of some of these ancient canes apparently don't even know they've got swords in them.

I suppose I'd better make a close inspection of all the canes we've inherited from my parents and from deceased sister-in-law. And on the occasions my knee is bothering me and I've gotta use a cane I'll use my own homemade cane. (Thank a recent big storm for providing me with a nice crepe myrtle branch to make it out of.)

Well anyhow, nothing happened yesterday, except for the observation that I think I've finally got our cuckoo clock adjusted to a gain-or-loss rate of within about two minutes a week. That's as close as I'm ever gonna get it.

And it looks like nothing's gonna happen today. Oh by the way, when you dine at DeGiovanni's and have their Tartofo Bombe dessert (a very hard-frozen ball of three flavors of ice cream inside a hard chocolate shell) make sure you've saved a fork to get into it with.

Happy Friday!
