Today we make fun of Dwayne Matthews, who, in a drunken stupor, bought a snake he didn't even want.

And today we celebrate Jesus-On-A-Stick Day. I suppose there's gonna be the usual Jesus Walk Ceremony starting at St Peters Chapel (Episcopal) and ending at Our Lady Star Of The Sea Chapel (Catholic) where there'll be this enormously long mystic ritual called Stations Of The Cross. I'm not gonna participate. Maybe I'll stroll down onto the island just to laugh at them.

But maybe I'll be roped into a peripheral participation of sorts. You see, the huge ceremonial gadget they use is stored in the storage barn alongside of the Lady Star church rectory and needs to be hauled down to St Peters to prepare for the ceremony, and I live half a block from Lady Star and own a pickup truck (that's "pickum-up truck, Dee Baa Gaa Cap'm!" in southern Maryland) so they tap me for the job.

But otherwise, today looks like it's gonna be a great day. Outdoor water is turned on. A couple of the water hose nozzles are very elderly and may need replaced. I'll go down to False Value Hardware and see what they've got.
