Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Niccolo Machiavelli, born in 1469. He was a philosopher who specialized in political ethics. His most famous work is The Prince which is a satire making fun of the methods used by evil tyrants to gain and maintain power, disguised as a recommendation for how evil tyrants oughta gain and maintain power. Naturally, the grandiose high muckity-mucks of the Catholic church recognized themselves as the evil tyrants he was talking about, and they placed The Prince on their List Of Banned Books. Yesterday nothing happened except that I seem to have caught some sorta bad cold or maybe a severe pollen reaction or something like that. But somehow or t'nother I'll find a way to go sputtering and wheezing through the day. Happy Friday! OrneryPest |
