Today we notice an unsubstantiated report that the NSA spies on the Vatican. If it's true, we wonder why. All they'll find out is a buncha useless hogwash.

The NSA denies it, claiming that if they did they won't find out anything except a buncha hogwash.

The Vatican claims it isn't concerned about it anyhow, because they realize all there is in the Vatican is a buncha hogwash anyhow.

At least they all agree about the hogwash part.

Anyhow, yesterday I finished the final coat of varnish on the bed I'm making. A coupla spots it didn't seem to go on quite like I like it, but I guess it'll hafta do. Now to let it harden for the appropriate period and then do the final assembly of drawer handles and chest lid hinges and whatever, then wait for help to lug the beast upstairs.

And then in the evening, Halloween came and went with no undue incidents.

And so today there's nothing to do but watch varnish dry.
