Today we celebrate the birthday of Oronce Fine, born in 1494. He was a mathematician.

And today's laughingstock is the big fuss stirred up by some TV network for firing some hillbilly actor who said a buncha hillbilly stuff in his personal life, outside of the TV show.

It seems to me that Phil Robertson had a perfect First Amendment right to say what he did. It also seems to me that A&E TV had a constitutional right to fire or suspend him, although they might get a lawsuit for breach of contract or something like that but I really don't know what their contract says and besides I probably won't be on that jury anyhow.

Yesterday nothing happened. The contractor trucks in front of the Lighthouse Restaurant were one electrician and 4 Coca-Cola trucks. So I suppose the restaurant plans on serving lotsa Coke.

It looks like nothing's gonna happen today.
