Today we kick off the New Year with the observation that Pope Francis opposes adoption of children by gay couples. Now, folks, the issue of who oughta adopt children is an issue for sociologists, not for know-nothing religion spastics.

Yesterday's quests scored a whopping 50%. I piggy-backed four errands into one. First, post office to pick up mail. Success. Second, to the dump to drop off a load of trash. Dump was closed. Fail. Third, drop off some sorta arcane paperwork about my upcoming cataract surgery at our village medicine man's office. Success. Fourth, go to drug store to see if prescription for cataract surgery prep meds is in. Not in yet. Fail.

Then in the evening, we celebrated quietly at home with a bottle of champagne which we somehow managed to open without having to chase the errant cork into the next county. Success.

So today nothing's gonna happen.

And tomorrow I'll have another go at the dump and the drug store.
