Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Thomas Tallis, born in 1505. He was a church music composer. We note that neither the date nor the year of his birth are authentically verifiable, but hey, we'll take any excuse for a celebration. Yesterday's most notable quest was shoveling about two inches of rather light fluffy new snow. Pretty easy job. A Facebook friend who lives about 1/8 of a mile from me reports four inches at her place. A stroll round and about Solomons reveal a few locations with perhaps six or seven inches. Last night's church pot luck dinner was 38 people, so as more and more people kept coming we had to keep getting more and more tables out of the closet. The presento afterwards was by military veterans talking about their experiences upon returning to real life. Most of them mumbled and rambled so I could hardy hear much. Worse yet, the event was emcee'd by Long Announcement Lady, who possesses a remarkable talent for making everything as long and boring as possible. Today looks like it might begin to warm up a bit.
