Today we celebrate the birthday of Buddy Morrow, born in 1919. He was a trombone player and big-band era swing orchestra leader.

Yesterday was the day to take War Goddess to the cat-groomery to get her toenails clipped. First step: get the cat carrier out of the closet. So War Goddess took one brief glance at the cat carrier and then immediately vanished into the far reaches of OrneryMansion.

So after a lengthy search, MrsPest found her somewhere on the third storey hiding amongst something or t'nother, grabbed her, and began carrying her downstairs.

So I was waiting at the bottom of the stairs. She struggled free from MrsPest's grasp and came running straight to me. So I picked her up and plopped her into the cat carrier, whereupon she screamed and howled like she was undergoing some sorta medieval torture ritual.

But anyhow, she got taken to the cat groomery, toenails clipped, and back home again, and I haven't seen her since. I suspect I probably won't see her again for at least a week.

I think we may resort to just leaving the cat carrier out permanently, as if it's just another piece of furniture, so she'll get used to it and won't realize when it's time again for her to take a little trip in it.

And it looks like today nothing's gonna happen. Yesterday the Wondrous Weather Website was predicting snow for today but I think they've canceled that prediction.

Happy Not Snowing!
