Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Johann Melchior Molter, born in 1696. He was a music composer. Yesterday church was the usual crashing bore. Father B preached the sermon in only 8 minutes and 24 seconds, keeping it short because he had to do the Iron Priest Triathlon (preach all 3 services). Then in the afternoon the Southern Maryland Secular Humanists presented a portion of the video of the brutal massacre in which Bill Nye mopped up the floor with Ken Ham. Ken Ham has been trying for several years to get somebody in the scientific community to debate him. Bill Nye finally consented. Most of the scientific community has 3 major misgivings about such a debate. First, debate is not a recognized part of the Scientific Method. Second, any recognition of the very existence of Ken Ham's point of view would appear to ascribe legitimacy to total flaming nincompoopery. Third, the scientist has to drastically dumb down his language to the microscopic subset of scientific terminology Ken Ham and his fellow idiots would have the slightest comprehension of. But it was supremely entertaining, and there was a slight chance it may of provided an inkling of what science is all about to a few folks who may of never been exposed to reality. And so it looks like today might be a nice day for a while, before it starts snowing along towards the end of the afternoon. Happy Monday! OrneryPest |
