Today we wish a fond Happy Birthday to Neil Sedaka, born in 1939. He's most famous as a singer, and also has several other musical talents.

Yesterday the tree trimming company that subcontracts to the tron company finished trimming the trees along the back street. I was yakking with them, and happened to notice a wire hanging loose. They said, yes, they know about it, but they don't know what it is.

It's a twisted-pair wire, blue and white, perhaps about 24-gauge or thereabouts. Not a power line. No utility has received reports from any customer about something that doesn't work.

So I hung the wire back out of my way, so if anybody ever does find out what it is it'll still be there and they can hook it back up again.

And today it's suddenly awful cold. It looks like nothing else is likely to happen.
