Today we celebrate the birthday of Franz Mesmer, born in 1734. He invented a theory called Mesmerism, which later became the basis for hypnosis.

Yesterday's high point was a very brief but intense hailstorm along about quarter of 6 PM or thereabouts, which donated a coupla cords of free giveaway firewood, which I'll begin dealing with today.

It also ripped down a tree across the street from me, blocking the street, so the sheriff deptment had the street blocked off for an hour or so dealing with it.

At one point the sheriff deputies asked me if I had a chain saw, and I said only a small electric one that I wasn't sure how well it would work with an extension cord long enough to reach, but a coupla other neighbors showed up with chain saws.

So I suppose they'll call in a professional tree chopper to deal with the rest of it as I'm dealing with what's on my own property.

So, I guess my Quest Of The Day is gonna be getting out there with Chadwick the Chainsaw.
