Oh by the way, folks, My more serious diary: |
Today we celebrate the birthday of Hans Huber, born in 1852. He was a music composer. Yesterday was a success except for one minor trauma. Eleanor Electric-mower finally Kissed Old Rose after a year or two of progressively worse and worse running. Just slowed to about 10 or 15 RPM and emitted a vast cloud of thick black smoke. So, I unstrung the electric cord off of it, loaded it and a couple of old broken computer monitors into Nelson the Nissan, and went a-questing to the dump. So, back home, I continued mowing with Sir Isaac the Neuton until his battery was out of charge, then continued with Morris the Manual Mower for the easy parts that power isn't really necessary, and I'll mow some more today after Sir Isaac the Neuton's battery has enough charge in it. The underground tron installers have made about 2 properties worth of progress in one day. They're now about half way between Langley Lane and C Street. That's about two blocks up from my place. The Avondale section of Solomons has 4 main cross streets. I live about halfway between Alexander Lane (which used to be A Street) and Woodburn Lane (which used to be B Street). Next comes C Street (which I think they're gonna rename Zahnizer Lane but they haven't got the new sign up yet) and finally there's Langley Lane (which used to be D Street). The tron installers expect to get to Alexander Lane by the end of the summer, then the sidewalk builders can start their work. Hey, it's the sidewalks I'm waiting for! Happy Waiting For Sidewalks!
